Brian Beutler brings word of yet another study showing that, by sheer virtue of keeping criminals inside a movie instead of in the streets committing a bit of the old ultra-violence, violent films prevent violent crime. And it isn’t just violence; two separate studies by Anthony D’Amato and Todd Kendall show that increased access to porn leads to a decline in rape. Now, censorship wouldn’t be justified even if the findings were different, but it’s good to know that it’s counter-productive at well.
